How to get paid for heating your home.

Did you know that the government RHI scheme could pay for your biomass boiler and more?

Financial Support

We understand that buying a new biomass heating system is a significant investment and requires serious consideration. The government has put in place a variety of financial schemes to support homeowners and businesses to make the transition away from fossil fuel systems and towards low carbon and renewable energy solutions.

The UK government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is the world’s first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat – see our detailed pages for further information.

The schemes providing financial assistance are constantly evolving as we have seen since we started monitoring this market in 2006. If you would like to be kept up to date with changes in the government funding schemes for biomass energy, then please sign up to our newsletter.

Domestic RHI

The domestic RHI scheme was launched in April 2014 and requires certain criteria to be met before homeowners can be eligible to receive funding.

Commercial RHI

The commercial RHI scheme has been in place since April 2012 and has different qualification requirements to the domestic scheme.

Interest Free Loans

New funds available for 2018 for an interest free loan of up to £10,000 for residents in Scotland. Funds available on a first come first served basis when criteria are met.

Next steps

To be eligible for the interest free loan you require a quote for a renewable energy heating system from an MCS certified installer, such as Pellets 2 Heat. Contact us to arrange for a free no obligation quote.

You can apply for RHI funding at any stage of the installation of your biomass boiler.
