Get paid to heat your home with wood

Did you know that the government currently offers a Renewable Heat Incentive to encourage homeowners to switch to renewable energy? All Scottish residents can also apply for an interest free loan of up to £10,000 to support the purchase of a renewable heating system. We can design, supply, install and maintain a wood pellet heating system to suit your needs. We are here to answer all your questions, just get in touch.

What is Biomass Heating?

Wood-fuelled heating systems, also called biomass systems, burn wood in the form of pellets, chips or logs to either provide warmth in a single room or to power your central heating and hot water tank.

What are the benefits of biomass heating?

It’s an affordable, low carbon heating system with financial support for homeowners to switch away from fossil fuels. Our highly efficient and reliable systems are ideal to replace older oil, gas or electric heating systems, and we can help calculate how much you will save on your heating bills.

What is the Renewable Heat Incentive?

The renewable heat incentive, or RHI, is the government scheme to encourage the shift to low carbon and renewable heat technologies. It pays you money for the next 7 years that could pay for the whole cost of your new heating system.

Affordable

Wood is an affordable heating fuel. The price of wood pellets has remained relatively stable compared to oil, LPG and electricity and has remained cheaper than most other heating options. There is financial support to switch to renewable energy where homeowners can earn income from a wood fuelled heating system. Homeowners in Scotland can also access an interest free loan up to £10,000 when criteria are met. Funds are available on a first come first served basis. We can design, supply and install a biomass heating system for you that is eligible for all these types of government funding.

Sustainable

Biomass heating is a low carbon option. The carbon dioxide emitted when wood is burned is equal to that which was absorbed over the months and years that the plant was growing. From October 2015 your fuel supply will also need to be from proven sustainable sources if you want to remain eligible for certain government grants. There are many criteria to consider when choosing your wood fuel including where it comes from, how much you need and where you will store it.

Energy Performance of your Home

Understanding how much energy your home uses is vital to ensure your biomass boiler is correctly sized for your needs. It is also critical in calculating how much you can earn from government financial incentives such as the RHI. We can generate an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for your home giving you the essential data on your home’s energy demands.
